So, I've just applied for a new job. I didn't expect to apply for it but it was just one of those things that kind of sometimes happens.
I was at work and noticed a promotion was advertised. A couple of people asked if I was considering applying and my immediate reaction was to say no. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought I'd be flippin' ace at it so thought I'd give it a shot!
The application closing date is 5pm today. I've just emailed my application across. I read it to my mum first and she said she'd make me CEO of the company based on what I'd written, but I guess she's a little biased!!
I'll be honest and say I'm not expecting to get the position. That is not me negative, I honestly think I'd be great at the job, but I know there are a lot of people applying and they're great too. My thinking is that by applying I'm showing willing and it puts my name out there for when more opportunities arise.
I want to be the best I can be in every situation, I guess progression and promotion is all part of that. I'll keep you posted...!

So much to say...
Hahahahahahahahaaaaa...
So it's only a YEAR since my first and last blog entry. And here's me thinking I have so much to say!
I will endeavour to write more frequently, I promise (and I haven't even got my fingers crossed behind my back so I must really mean it!)

My first real foray into the blogosphere
So this is it. I finally realised that I have more to say than can be fitted into 140 characters. (Those who know me may well be shocked by that confession - surely I must have realised before now just how much I like to blather on? - Well, yes, I guess I did already know that I like the sound of my own voice, so perhaps employing a blog will mean I have another outlet for my many words and I can reign in the verbal incontinence...)
I cannot promise how frequently (or infrequently!) I'll post, but I'll *try* to keep it to those times I actually have something of value to share.
For this first post I'll just fill you in on a little about me - expanding a little on the profile info...
First and foremost I love Jesus. He saved me before I even knew I needed saving. He has given me access to the real, full life I was intended for. Once I chose to follow Him, the blinkers came off and I saw the world for what it was without him - a 2 dimensional, cardboard-cutout land in shades of grey. Who would choose to inhabit that when they could live in the mega-multi-dimensional technicolour world of knowing Him? That might sound like flowery language, but essentially what I'm saying is that we are created for more than what this present world can ever offer us; our true potential can only be found in Jesus. That is why I'm committed to introducing as many people as I can to Him.
I'm also committed to the local Church. Its honestly the best vehicle we have for facilitating that introduction. I'm dedicated to building one local church in particular - Ribble Valley Church. I'm passionate about our purpose to Empower a New Generation and to live as people of Passion, Purity, Power and Promise. I love our leadership - I happen to think they're the best and I thank God for calling me to serve them.
I'm besotted with my family. My 7yr old niece, Lucy, is a legend. I love her so much sometimes I think my heart could burst. My Mum is my best friend, closely followed by my Nana. My Dad is my hero. I'm also close to my sister, my auntie and my cousin. I have family across the globe and look forward to every time I see them.
My biggest vice is books. I love to read and I probably spend too much on books. I'd rather buy I new book than new shoes.
I'm a perpetual student. After leaving Uni I had a one year break of studies, then started a Diploma in Applied Theology. When that was finished (actually, before that was quite finished) I started a Masters in Applied Theology. I'm right in the middle of that now.
Some people have asked how I keep all the plates spinning, the travelling to and from Tyneside and Preston, the family stuff, and the studying. All I can say is that I'm trying to live life as a woman of tenacity. I will not give up on something until I've seen it through or until God tells me to let it go. Sometimes stubbornness comes in handy...
