So, I've just applied for a new job. I didn't expect to apply for it but it was just one of those things that kind of sometimes happens.
I was at work and noticed a promotion was advertised. A couple of people asked if I was considering applying and my immediate reaction was to say no. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought I'd be flippin' ace at it so thought I'd give it a shot!
The application closing date is 5pm today. I've just emailed my application across. I read it to my mum first and she said she'd make me CEO of the company based on what I'd written, but I guess she's a little biased!!
I'll be honest and say I'm not expecting to get the position. That is not me negative, I honestly think I'd be great at the job, but I know there are a lot of people applying and they're great too. My thinking is that by applying I'm showing willing and it puts my name out there for when more opportunities arise.
I want to be the best I can be in every situation, I guess progression and promotion is all part of that. I'll keep you posted...!

ReplyDeleteGosh, it's been a while since I posted this. Just to update you, I got through the application, presentation and interview stages but I didn't get the job. I wasn't really disappointed as the person who did get it is absolutely perfect for it.So for now I'm just going to keep doing what I do to the very best of my ability.
